Mike Duffy: I was wondering when you go from high school, college, to the minor leagues, what was the biggest challenge when you reach each stage?
Luke Leftwich: The biggest challenge for me was transitioning to a faster paced game at every level. The game speeds up and you have to be prepared to slow it down.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite thing about being a Philly?
Luke Leftwich: My favorite thing about being a Philly is the passion from the fans. Win or lose Philly fans are always extremely passionate about the team.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite hobby besides baseball?
Luke Leftwich: My favorite hobby is probably soccer, I grew up playing it so I love watching it and playing FIFA.
Mike Duffy: Who was your favorite baseball player growing up?
Luke Leftwich: I loved Ken Griffey Jr as a kid, I tried to imitate his swing all the time.
Mike Duffy: What was your favorite team growing up?
Luke Leftwich: I grew up an Angels fan because that’s who my dad played for.
Mike Duffy: Goals for this offseason?
Luke Leftwich: This offseason I’m graduating from college, so finishing strong there would be a good goal. As well as continue to get stronger and more flexible to help out my pitching.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite stadium?
Luke Leftwich: Favorite stadium I’ve ever played in would have to be Spectrum field. It’s a beautiful stadium and I love the feel of the park.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite T.V. show?
Luke Leftwich: I’d have to say the office is my favorite show, I could watch that over and over again.
Mike Duffy: Do you have a motto or a thing to do to get you out of a rough time?
Luke Leftwich: My motto is a bible verse, pretty cliché, but Philippians 4:13 is tattood on my arm and that’s the one I turn to.
Mike Duffy: When did you know you wanted to play professional baseball?
Luke Leftwich: I knew I wanted to play pro ball because I grew up watching my dad do it and I knew that’s what I wanted to do with my life.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite baseball memory?
Luke Leftwich: My favorite baseball memory is a tough one but I’d have to say it was my entire junior season of college baseball. Too many fun times and good memories with my teammates that year to choose from!
