Mike Duffy: I was wondering  when you go from high school to the minor leagues, what was the biggest challenge when you reach each stage?

Sean Reynolds: Well first off, the jump from the high school straight pro ball is difficult for a number of reasons, first and foremost the level and speed of the game is very very different than what I was used to seeing. Everyone on the field is extremely talented and worked just as hard as you to get where they are, so it was eye opening.

Mike Duffy: What is your favorite thing about being a Marlin?

Sean Reynolds: My favorite thing about being a Marlin is the excitement that comes with throwing on the jersey every day knowing who I am representing. You play for yourself to do well obviously but it’s also about knowing that each day I still have a jersey on is another day I can get closer to Miami, which is always the ultimate goal.

Mike Duffy: What is your favorite hobby besides baseball?

Sean Reynolds: My favorite hobby besides baseball is probably golf, even though I’m not very good. It’s a fun way to spend any day even when you suck hahaha.

Mike Duffy: Who was your favorite baseball player growing up?

Sean Reynolds: My favorite baseball player growing up was David Ortiz hands down. He always got it done when I counted most and the energy and joy he played with was always something I tried to emulate.

Sean Reynolds: As far as goals for the offseason, get bigger faster and stronger than ever heading into 2018. Do everything I can to get in the best shape of my life.

Mike Duffy: What is your favorite stadium?

Sean Reynolds: My favorite stadium in baseball has to be Fenway, naturally haha. So much history and such an electric atmosphere no matter who’s playing.

Mike Duffy: Do you have a motto or a thing to do to get you out of a rough time?

Sean Reynolds: If things aren’t going well for me I just have to tell myself it’ll pass eventually. Life in general and especially life in the minors can be a roller coaster so I try and not let myself get super high or low.

Mike Duffy: When did you know you wanted to play professional baseball?

Sean Reynolds: I knew I wanted to play pro ball from the time I first started playing Tee Ball when I was 4. It’s always been my favorite sport hands down and I’ve never seen myself doing anything different.

Mike Duffy: What is your favorite baseball memory?

Sean Reynolds: My favorite baseball memory is winning back to back CIF championships in high school my junior and senior year. Those are Two years and two seasons of my life that I’ll never ever forget.

Mike Duffy: What is your biggest takeaway after this season?

Sean Reynolds: As far as a takeaway from this past season, I think it was mostly positive. I was able to perform fairly well and learned more than I ever have about the game and about myself in a 6 month span so I’m excited for what 2018 holds.
