Mike Duffy: I was wondering when you go from high school to college, what was the biggest challenge when you reach each stage?
Steele Walker: The biggest adjustment was being able to handle failure. College ball is not easy when you compare it t high school learning how to stay composed and handle failure was big for me.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite thing about being a player for the Oklahoma Sooners?
Steele Walker: The tradition and history behind this program is what makes it special to put the Sooner jersey on.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite hobby besides baseball?
Steele Walker: Shopping!
Mike Duffy: What are you most looking forward to when going to the major leagues?
Steele Walker: I still have a long way till I get a chance at the majors. I’m taking it day by day.
Mike Duffy: How do you feel about the draft coming up?
Steele Walker: The draft has no effect on me as a player. I am focused on playing as hard as I can this spring for the Sooners. However, I am very thankful to God for the position He has placed me in.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite stadium?
Steele Walker: Ranger’s Stadium is my favorite. I think its called Globe Life Park now.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite Movie? What is your favorite T.V. Show?
Steele Walker: Avatar is my favorite movie. ESPN is my favorite thing on TV.
Mike Duffy: Do you have a motto or a thing to do to get you out of a rough time?
Steele Walker: My faith and relationship with the lord Jesus is my life and moment by moment supply. Not only in the bad times, but the good times as well, I can always turn to Him.
Mike Duffy: When did you know you wanted to play professional baseball?
Steele Walker: God continues to open doors for me when it comes to baseball. I always want to follow His lead. I would love to play professional baseball, if God is willing.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite baseball memory?
Steele Walker: Playing for team USA this summer on the 4th of July against Cuba. The whole stadium was sold out, and the fans were phenomenal. We won the game and it was amazing to be able to represent the country, especially on the 4th of July.
Mike Duffy: What is your biggest goal for this season season?
Steele Walker: My biggest goal is how I want to become an all around player. I want to use all my abilities to impact the game for my team.
Mike Duffy: Who is your favorite Musician? What is your favorite song?
Steele Walker: I like all kinds of music. However my favorite music by far is the music I sing at my church with fellow lovers of Christ!
