Brandon Miller
Interviewed By Mike Duffy
Mike Duffy: I was wondering when you go from high school to College, to the minor leagues, what was the biggest challenge when you reach each stage?
Brandon Miller: High school to college wasn’t as big of a jump as college to the minor leagues was. Especially coming from Millersville University, a Division II school, that was a big adjustment. Mistakes get exposed quite a bit more in minor league ball.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite thing about being a Marlin?
Brandon Miller: I am still learning my way around the organization since I was just traded to them late last season. But I would have to say the staff and coaches are some of the best. They know how to teach and inaugurate a winning mentality into all of the players.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite hobby besides baseball?
Brandon Miller: I enjoy anything outdoors. Hunting and fishing are a few of my favorites.
Mike Duffy: Who was your favorite baseball player growing up?
Brandon Miller: I’m gonna be completely honest, I didn’t really have a favorite player. I grew up without cable TV so I never watched baseball. I routed for the Phillies but never got to watch too many games.
Mike Duffy: Do you have any Superstitious pregame moments?
Brandon Miller: My pregame meal before I pitch always has to be a foot long chicken teriyaki sub from subway and 10 strawberries.
Mike Duffy: What was your favorite team growing up?
Brandon Miller: Like I said earlier I didn’t get to watch much baseball but when I did I routes for the Phillies.
Mike Duffy: Goals for this upcoming season?
Brandon Miller: I would like to continue refining my secondary pitches. Especially my change up. I think that pitch will boost my confidence and effectiveness on the mound.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite stadium?
Brandon Miller: Fenway has to be one of my favorites. I had the opportunity to practice on Fenway and it was a very awesome experience.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite Movie? What is your favorite T.V. Show?
Brandon Miller: The Patriot is my favorite movie and Friends is my favorite TV show.
Mike Duffy: Do you have a motto or a thing to do to get you out of a rough time?
Brandon Miller: I always say to myself…”stay in the present.” That keeps me centered and focused on the task at hand.
Mike Duffy: When did you know you wanted to play professional baseball?
Brandon Miller: I’ve always wanted to play Pro Ball but I think it became more of a reality during my first couple years at college when some of my teammates started getting drafted.
Mike Duffy: What is your favorite baseball memory?
Brandon Miller: I have two baseball memories that I won’t forget. First, making it to the College World Series was an unforgettable experience. Also, making it to play offs with three of different minor league teams in my career so far has been fantastic.
Mike Duffy: What is your biggest takeaway after this season?
Brandon Miller: Biggest takeaway would have to be that routines are very important. No matter if you are pitching very well or struggling it is crucial to stick to your routines.
Mike Duffy: Who is your favorite Musician? What is your favorite song?
Brandon Miller: Church Clap by KB feat. Lecrae
